Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set apart. Six days you labour, and shall do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of YHVH your Elohim. You do not do any work….For in six days YHVH made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore YHVH blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart.”—Exodus 20:8-11

And taking bread, giving thanks, He (Yahshua) broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise the cup also, after supper, saying, “This cup is the renewed covenant in My blood which is shed for you.”
—Luke 22:19-20

One of my favorite parts of Erev Shabbat (Friday after sunset) is reciting the blessings over the bread and wine. In so doing my family remembers that Messiah gave his life for us.

Sabbath is not solely about the physical rest we enjoy but is a special day dedicated to study, prayer and communion with our Creator.

The Blessings over the Wine

Baruch Ata YHVH
Eloheynu Melech HaOlam
Borey Pree Ha Gafen

Blessed are you Oh YHVH our Elohim
King of the Universe who brings forth the fruit of the vine

The Blessing over the Bread

Baruch Ata YHVH
Eloheynu Melech HaOlam
Ha Motzee Lechem Meen Ha Aretz

Blessed are you Oh YHVH our Elohim
King of the Universe who brings forth the bread from the earth

Blessed Are You Father!

Halleluyah and Shabbat Shalom
