I found this baby legs tutorial that I liked a lot because it was explained very clearly. These are so easy to make too!

Some helpful tips for making these:

  • Use a medium zigzag stitch when sewing these because of these being a knit fabric.
  • Iron the raw edges when you have them lined up before you pin them to sew. This makes it a lot easier for your to ensure that you get all three layers of fabric sewn together.  I did this the second time around and even used a little starch – it made a big difference. The raw edges of the socks tend to naturally curl up on themselves because of them being knit fabric.
  • When done stitching the zigzag, trim the excess fabric near the stitching to about 1/4-1/8 inch. This helps cut down on bulk near the seam when turned right side out.

I made a pair for Mrs. Sayuri and one for Mr. Happy Feet too. He’s got plenty of room for growing into his as you can see.

Here is Mrs. Sayuri in hers.

These would make very cute and easy gifts for friends that are expecting.
