The Challenge
For the month of November I have decided to embark on a personal photography challenge. My plan is to take at least one photo a day and post it on here. The goal is to encourage myself to get my camera out more thereby giving myself more opportunity to find inspiration in unlikely moments or circumstances. So far, I’ve really enjoyed it. I am already three days into November and I’ve managed to take the photos every day. Now, for posting them.
As you may have noticed, I have not posted on here in quite a while. So, I’m hoping with this new challenge I’ll get more consistent in my frequency of posting.
My first image is from today. I’ll try and get up my first two images from the first and second of November, tomorrow. Initially there will be a little catching up.
A little bit about today
Today we attended a Celebration of Life service for a man that we barely knew but wished we had had the opportunity to get to know better. He was only 54 but lived such a full life of service to men and God. He was a father to five children, three grown and two still in their early teens, married to his wife for 33 years and a pastor for 31 years. We met him through the local homeschool group that we joined here recently – he and his wife were the longtime heads of the local chapter.
Although I hardly knew the man, I found myself deeply touched by his death. I grieve for his wife – she has lost her best friend and partner. I can’t imagine a life without mine. My heart aches for his daughters and sons too. All through the service this message was emphasized – love God, read His Word every day, and live the Word {obey}. Simple, humble truths that bear repeating and words this man lived by.
Today’s Image
We walked home from the church and soon we saw sleet (a mixture of rain and snow) falling. I stepped out onto the back porch and snapped this picture.
Nice photo, good message.
