Over two years ago, I posted about Mrs. Sayuri being our Little Cookie Decorator. She is not only enthusiastic about cookie decorating, but she is an amazing cake decorator.
These cake and cupcake creations are all from the past 8 months or so. Above is my birthday cake she made me in April of this year. She frosted the cake with Swiss meringue buttercream by herself – under her Grandma D’s supervision.
Above is a cake she decorated for her Auntie Heather’s birthday in May. The frosting for this cake was a combo of cream cheese frosting and whipped cream.
These are red velvet cupcakes she frosted. She’s a natural at the swirl technique.
And last but not least, this is her most recent creation, her Grandma D’s birthday cake. We had this as part of our Thanksgiving feast spread because Grandma D’s birthday fell on the same day as Thanksgiving this year. I provided the blank canvas of a frosted white cake for her, and then she decorated it with pink, yellow and white plus a little bit of every kind of sprinkle we had!
By the way, that blue splotch of sprinkles on the right was her brother’s doing. When he sees her decorating, then he wants to help – mainly so he can get a taste of something sweet while he’s at it.
The cupcakes and above cake were decorated with Glorious Treats Cream Cheese Frosting.YUM!
Beautiful creations by a sweet young frosting artist.
Double wow! Mrs. Sayuri is a great cake decorator! I’m impressed with her swirled cupcake frosting as well.
