I finally found the perfect cinnamon bun recipe. Hubby is very particular about how he likes his cinnamon buns. He wants them fluffy and airy, i.e. just like his mama makes. Up until now, I had failed to please.
I stumbled upon this delicious recipe through blog surfing. One blog led to another. (One blog somehow always leads to another, right?)
What I like about this recipe is that it is super quick compared to traditional recipes I have tried. That is actually what made me want to try to make these in the first place. The reduction in time, due to the addition of baking powder & baking soda accompanying the usual yeast, means there is no waiting hours for the dough to rise. These took 25-30 minutes tops for the total rising process. The whole thing was so much faster than I am used to… it was almost too good to be true.
The best news is that these turned out just like his mama makes. 🙂 Yummy, fluffy and light as a cloud.
Score!
Good job, HAD was also hungry for cinnamon buns and ended up buying them, I doubt there are as good as these.
Oh, I am so glad that you liked them! You should try my variation on them, after perfecting the cinnamon roll, I used the recipe to make Orange Rolls! They are linked under my recipe section.

The Orange Rolls look delicious. I’m going to try them for sure. Thanks.
LOVE this! We’re definitely gonna try this out. We were looking for a really easy, moist and fluffy recipe and ended up making Cinnamon Roll muffins (see here http://sistersizzle.com/2012/06/11/recipe-12-cinnamon-roll-muffins/) but it still lacked that soft bun-y quality! i’m so excited about this find, even though it’s over 2 years old haha! thanks!
I hope you end up liking the recipe as much as I do. It’s my go to recipe for cinnamon buns now and I love them even more now than when I posted this. I do use a different icing recipe though. The one I use is cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar and vanilla bean paste (you could use extract too). It’s more like a cinnabon frosting knock off. It’s a delicious combo.
How can I get the recipie?
