Girls Day Out For Tea
Our family visited my in-laws in Florida for four weeks in January/February. They were wintering down there for 3 months to get away from the cold snow in New York. We had such a nice relaxing visit seeing family and friends.
On one of our outings we visited The Garden Gate Tea Room in Mt. Dora, Florida. Grandma D, myself and Mrs. Sayuri had a very special lunch there together, while the boys went to a Mexican restaurant up the road.
The food was good, but we were disappointed in the fact that you have to give 24 hour notice to get the special tea sandwiches and cookie trays.
There are actually two tea room restaurants in Mt. Dora – the other one being a more traditional English tea room called the Windsor Rose Tea Room. They do offer the tea sandwiches and cookie tray without prior notice, but we preferred the whimsical ambience of the Garden Gate Tea Room.
It was so cozy and we had a very nice time. A special girls day out for sure.
*Mr. Happy Feet is in the above photo with us because the boys came and met up with us once they were done eating lunch themselves.
Such a lovely posting. It brought back fond memories of that special day.
