This year we splurged on buying a real pumpkin in Costa Rica. Here they are not cheap and hard to find at that, but when I saw them at PriceSmart for sale, I had the urge to buy one. I think my favorite season has come to be autumn. I attribute that to my having spent several autumns in New York in the past years. Having grown up in California, I didn’t experience the beauty of autumn like you can in New York. This year we did not make our fall visit like we have been doing and so I missed it. A big orange pumpkin was the closest I could get for now.
When the pumpkin started to get a bad spot on the outside, I roasted the flesh and saved that for pumpkin baked goods, and even baked the seeds. That was a first.
The pumpkin was quite large but actually did not weigh that much. The children could both pick it up with no problem. They had fun rolling it around in the back yard and using it as a comfortable seat.
I love how absolutely orange it was.
As you can see in the above photo, Mr. Happy Feet was delighted with his orange “ball”. 🙂
Wonderful pictures bring back wonderful Autumn memories. Nice photography.
Great photos! I haven’t been able to dispose of my pumpkins either. They are both frozen from the cold and sitting in the backyard.
I adore the pumpkin and baby feet and knees picture!
