Mrs. Sayuri is beginning to understand that Sabbath is a weekly occurrence and that it’s a very special day. She often wishes it to be Sabbath, when it’s not. One day she asked me if it was Sabbath, and followed her question with the qualifying statement “because it smells like Shabbat”. Curious to hear what her answer might be I replied, “Oh, really? What does Shabbat smell like?”
She informed me that Shabbat smells like grape juice, bread and butter, and pink roses of course! I couldn’t agree more. 🙂
Shabbat Shalom
How precious, out of the mouths of babes. The flowers are lovely, nice photography.

Beautiful Nicole! What a beautiful description for her to have in her heart and memory. Wow. How may memories I have of things, just from a smell. What a beautiful scent to think of Shabbat from.
