This cake was a collaboration between my mom and I. I made the cake and she made the decorations. I transported everything to the party venue and put the decorations on right before “cake time”.
The strawberries were made with fondant and turned out so cute! (Cake journal has a great tutorial on how to make gumpaste strawberries here.) The cake toppers were cookie pops (cookies on sticks). The icing was swiss meringue buttercream.
Such a fun cake to create. This was my first time stacking a cake like this. I used straws cut to size and stuck them inside the bottom layer to support the top layer.
We made this cake in February for a friend’s daughter’s fourth birthday.
