Right outside of the center of Bainbridge, NY, is the Frogpond Farm and farm stand. It is a family run farm and business and their prices are very affordable. The farm stand opens for business in the spring (around April I believe) and closes in late fall. Their last day open this year was October 31.
You can find loads of fresh produce (some they grow and the rest is as local as possible) and local products like cheese, apple cider and honey for sale there, along with other things like maple syrup and caramel apple kits to name a few.
For Mrs. Sayuri’s sixth birthday we took her and Mr. Happy Feet there in mid October. We walked around the farm a bit and viewed and petted some of the livestock. We saw goats, chickens, roosters, turkeys (boy was he weird looking!), geese, sheep, pigs, ducks and rabbits.
That billy goat was huge!!!
The pig pen was especially memorable because it was so stinky! Seriously… Ew.
Here’s the strange lookin’ turkey. His gobble was so funny.
Along with seeing and petting the animals, the children also enjoyed playing in the corn bin and going in the hay bale maze.
We also picked out some pumpkins while there.
There were pumpkins for sale of all shapes, sizes and even colors!
We bought lots of apples from them too. You can sample any apple before you purchase.
It was so much fun for all of us to visit the Frogpond together. I am already looking forward to next spring when they’ll be opening back up again.
Your photos always surprise and amaze me. You are able to shoot all types of subjects…
